Ernesto Benavidez is Today’s Repeat Offender

 

The Albuquerque Police Department has named Ernesto Benavidez as today’s Repeat offender of the Day. Benavidez has 66 prior arrests and was charged today in Metropolitan Court with receiving stolen property, probation violation and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

 

As a part of the repeat offender of the day program, the Albuquerque Police Department is placing Benavidez’s picture on its Facebook page and web site as well as posting a link on the department’s Twitter account. The repeat offender of the day program was started in May 2012 by Police chief Raymond Schultz after officers started to encounter suspects who had dozens of prior arrests and received little jail time.
